The room was larger than expected for 3 adults. The king size bed for 2 of us was a pleasant surprise. The buffet breakfast was beyond our expectations, fresh fruit, outside patio and many choices. Only complaint was there was loud voices outside our room (pousada next door) so we had to put on the a/c at night in stead of opening our window. This was our mistake, next time would ask for a quiet room We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone else 9/10

It is close to the historic centre and room are specious. They allowed us to check-out at 1pm. Breakfast is pretty nice buffet, but you can get better in Brazil.
Furniture is very worn down, mattress is thin, staff is poorly trained and go into your room without knocking! You can get better posada in Paraty for that money.

We had a great experience staying at Pousada Fortaleza in Paraty. the location was perfect, right next to the heart of downtown and within walking distance of the historic sites. the staff, including the hotel manager/owner, were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. the showers were a pleasant surprise too, as they were nice and hot, which was especially welcome in the cold evenings.
Nothing that I didn't like. 😊

The breakfast buffet offered a variety of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices. The dining environment was beautiful. The location was perfect, just a 5-minute walk to the historic center, as well as close to a supermarket, bus terminal.
Felt like a home away from home, with nothing being too much trouble.

A Hidden Gem
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming budget option in a great location. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was kinda surprised by my experience at Pousada Fortaleza.
Although there were a few minor setbacks, such as occasional Wi-Fi connectivity issues and a septic smell outside the hotel, they did not significantly detract from my overall experience.

The hotel's location is perfect for exploring the historic center, as it is just a short walk away. Additionally, it is not too close to the port, so you don't have to worry about noise or congestion. The room was spacious, clean, and well equipped with amenities such as a hairdryer and fridge. The staff provided excellent service, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. The breakfast offered a variety of options and the terrace where it was served provided a lovely view of the central square.
The only downside was the occasional presence of flies and bees during breakfast, which could be a bit uncomfortable.
